Making EBay money with pure strategy

Of course, what we need to make a better living is to make money. There are a lot of things you can venture out along the digital world. When you are online, there is a plethora of ways to get your pocket full of money, but of course, you need to do it they way it’s meant to be. They all say it’s hard, we know that, here are some probable things to keep you on track in making money particularly in eBay.

What are the basics of selling on eBay and what does it mean to “run your business like a business?” Let’s take a look:

Set up and organize your business like a professional business –because it is. If you take shortcuts and try to operate on the cheap, you will never be taken seriously. The internet is still a scary place for some folks. Take the time to brand you business create a look and feel that your customers can relate to and one that creates a sense of confidence.

Invest in Automation early. Whether you use an online system such as Vendio, Mpire or eBay’s Selling Manager or off line software such as those made by Blackthorne, Marketbalst, or others, you want to automate from the beginning. Automation saves you time and make your operation appear and function, more professionally.

When you make some money, don’t rush out and spend it. Always reinvest in your business and keep reinvesting in your business.

Time is your most precious resource. Anything you can do to automate functions and get others to perform simple operational tasks will free you to do the management and creative tasks that will build your business.

Every listing is a reflection of you and your business. Each listing should look professional and contain keyword-rich headlines, good photos and item descriptions that are accurate, complete and that sell.

Establish sales, payment, and shipping and return policies that are both friendly and yet support your business model. Don’t be dictatorial. EBay is a community built on trust. If you trust others to do right they usually will. The percentages that don’t are quite small and you should treat it as a cost of doing business.

Build and preserve an excellent feedback reputation. Feedback is the window through which others see you. You can have great products, compelling product descriptions and super photos –but if you have a lousy feedback score, your business will suffer.

Great feedback is built by providing great customer service. Treat every customer as you would like to be treated and you will always have a high score.

Follow the rules. A lot of new sellers become frustrated by eBay’s complex listing regulations. You can’t fight city hall. EBay is like the government. Some of the rules may seem petty and unfair, but it is their platform, their business and they make the rules. EBay has been pretty good over the years of responding to member feedback. If you think a rule is stupid or unworkable, don’t push the envelop and don’t get into a fight with eBay –you will lose. Instead post your opinion on the message boards. EBay members are on the boards and they look for common threads and opinions from their members. An intelligent post will get read.

EBay is one of the most competitive marketplaces on Earth. Study and stay on top of your competition constantly –and be prepared to react to changes in the marketplace. I study my competitor’s auctions at least once a week.

Experiment, test, and innovate. Experiment with new tools and software when they become available. Test different listing and pricing strategies, new products and sales strategies. Test headlines and optional features. Innovate constantly. Always look for new ways to solve old problems.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are plenty of resources for the entrepreneur amazingly the best source of help is often other eBayers. Your direct competitor may not want to help you, but there are plenty of others who will. A post on any of the eBay related forums message board will bring dozens of responses. Once you are a seller, you need all the resources you need to have your business still flowing and in good condition.

Capture the Most Appropriate and Needed eBay selling software

For eBay sellers, selling on eBay was a great novelty and was really fun, for a while. However, once the administration and maintenance began to pile up, nothing is ever the same. The absence of eBay selling software that organizes such things seem so faraway, then. It seems that you’ll be always be rushing, running and thinking.

Common questions to soar up in your head are, Have the checks cleared? Have I left feedback for everyone? Was my shipping charge the right amount? Sure there are Excel spreadsheet and even hard copies in stacks of folders or record books. Still it turns out to be a real headache. But, instead of nursing your headache and then plunging back into the roller coaster, why not search for some eBay selling software that will help simplify things?

Now, the internet is a real fountain of information. If you click on in the internet and more likely, you’ll get plenty of search results responding on eBay selling software.

Look for an eBay selling software that would help with your organizing troubles and foibles. Chances are that if you type eBay software, you get very relevant results. Just imagine, all of them are out them, ready to be applied. If you search in google, you are likely to find even more search results.

Once you have the results, prevent disappointments by concentrating on your top priority. This helps ensure you don’t lose focus and get fancy auction graphics instead of the auction management system that you desperately need.

Three Types of eBay selling Software

There are three broad categories for eBay selling software. These three are market insight (to identify what and how to sell), auction management (to administer selling chores), and listing enhancements (to attract bids).

Market Insight products software help you decide what, when and how to sell by analyzing completed auctions and generating statistics on timing, enhancements, sell-through rates and more. If you are considering selling in a new, unfamiliar category or are struggling to move your inventory, then market insight could improve your selling strategy.

Auction Management eBay selling software keeps your sales administration under control. Do this by putting a framework around your eBay sales and automating repetitive tasks. Products vary in their breadth, but may include listing, payment, shipping and feedback features. If your products are selling well, but you are struggling to maintain a high level of service, an auction management system software is what you need.

Once you have decided which type of eBay selling software you need most, list out your requirements in detail. How much are you willing to pay? Do you require support for international eBay sites?
Which features must you have? Which features would be nice to have? Take time to get all your requirements listed accurately because it is easy to lose sight of your goals later on.

Listing Enhancements cover a wide range of products and often appeal to sellers who already have a well-managed business. They include detailed bidder statistics (to fine-tune auction listing), interactive pictures or video (to showcase high-value products), and real-time chat (to provide instant customer service). If you sell expensive items or are looking for that extra edge over your competitors, then look into listing enhancements.

Software versus Hosted Services

The difference between software and hosted product is that, in software, you download a file to your computer (or buy a CD from a store), then run the installation program. You don’t need to be stay connected to the Internet but software can be used if you are at your computer. Your auction data is stored away on hard drive.

Meanwhile, hosted or online products are accessed via the web, so you can use the service from many computer but need to stay connected in the internet. By using this your auction data is stored on the vendor’s computers rather than your own, and improvements to the service are available immediately – there are no downloads.

Choosing between software and a hosted service is partly a matter of personal preference, but if you have a slow Internet connection, a software-based tool may be the only practical option.

In using eBay selling software, be aware that there are those that may not answer to your needs. So be specific as you search for the best eBay selling software or even hosted service products that you engage for your eBay business. It may just be the key to your success…and relaxation, too.

Make Money on EBay While Others Are Scratching Their Heads!

“Aaargh! Why is my competition getting way more hits than mine?”

There are several reasons why, but I hope to explain at least the major reason.

≈ Poor titles with a lack of highly targeted keywords

The majority of eBay sellers are completely unaware that they are jeopardising their success through lack of knowledge. Knowledge is POWER and the most effective way to power-pack your auctions is to use highly targeted keywords in your auction titles and descriptions…

Let’s start with your title …

eBay estimates that over 90% of users search eBay by using the basic search feature which means they only search the auction titles.

“So what does this mean for me?”

Above all else … it means focus more on your auction titles first and foremost and then consider integrating those same highly targeted keywords into your auction descriptions.

“So where do you find these highly targeted keywords and which ones should you use?”

The best place to start is with ‘eBay Pulse‘ and browse through the top popular searches in the category where you would like to list your auction using the Category drop-down box. Jot down the list of the top 10.

Now the number of words allowed in your auction titles is limited so be sure to find several popular search terms that you can easily integrate into your auction title remembering to make it sound interesting also – not just a swag of keywords!

You can generally assume that on average, people search for the same terms on eBay as they do in search engines. In light of this, to see how valuable your chosen keywords really are I suggest using the Overture “Keyword Selector Tool” to see how popular those keywords/search terms are by the estimated number of times they were searched for in all the major search engines for the past month.

Please bear in mind that these results are not entirely accurate, however they will give you an overview of which keywords are the most important and will be searched for the

most.

Enter each search term separately and from the results jot down the top 5 search phrase results for each of the keywords.

Another hot tip is with eBay itself. Go ahead and search for similar items to which you want to list and take note of 3 things.

1. The title at the top of the page – here eBay lists other highly targeted words for your item.
2. Underneath the search box (depending on what you have searched for) you will see ‘related searches’ which can give you more ideas.
3. Be sure to click the check box on the left hand side for ‘completed items’ and then click the search button and have a look for items that have sold similar to yours. When the results are returned, click the column title called ‘price’ to sort by final price.

Make note of the most successful sales and look at their titles. (As a side note, it pays to look at what category they listed in and also anything you can learn from their description, layout etc – remembering of course not to copy their text or photos).

Now you’re ready to strategically integrate those highly targeted keywords & phrases into your auction titles to drive highly targeted traffic to your auctions.

Remember, as I mentioned earlier, be sure to make full use of the best keywords but the title must make sense and be inviting (not just a list of keywords that will get your auction deleted for keyword spamming) – You need to be creative, after all you may get hundreds of visitors from searches but you still need them to click on your title!

Find out how easy it is to seriously “Make Money on eBay“.

It’s in the nature of our lives as internet marketers that we accumulate dozens, hundreds – even thousands of downloads over time. Products we’ve bought, bonuses we’ve been given by the truckload, resell rights packages we’ve acquired on the way… Our store of downloads just grows and grows and grows.

And each of us makes a brave attempt to find ways to stucture this information – but very quickly we find that whatever organizational scheme we come up with, the stuff we want to file away never quite fits.

And so our gigabytes of downloads end up in chaos. The result?

- We can’t find things that we KNOW we’ve got.

We spend hours and hours searching for that eBook, script or tool that we definitely remember downloading months ago. We need it urgently, right now, but can we find it? Can we just!

- We forget 80-95% of what we’ve got.

So we end up buying products that we don’t need. We already have something that fits our need, but we clean don’t remember, and have no way of checking (unless we take a few days off!). So we waste money buying another product.

Even worse – we end up buying the same product twice! That happens more often than you’d think, believe me.

So what’s the answer to this? None of us as serious internet marketers wants to spend the time figuring out how to solve this problem. We need to spend our time on productive work.

Fortunately, one of the leading experts in the field of Knowledge Management has done two things to crack this difficult problem.

Firstly, he’s worked out a detailed “taxonomy” of internet marketing. That means, he’s identified all the topics that make up internet marketing, and figured out how they relate to each other.

Secondly, he’s organized these into a Mind Map (the IM Index Mind Map) and used that as a visual interface onto a folder structure for holding all internet marketing downloads.

To understand what I mean, Watch the Videos! on this site I think you’ll enjoy watching them.
This knowledge management expert is called Alex Goodall, and he’s calling himself the “Internet Marketing Knowledge Manager”.He’s caused quite a stir with this simple, but very powerful idea, and I’m looking forward to seeing where he goes next.
But in the mean time, you’ll get some good ideas about how to organize your downloads by watching his videos.

Products to sell on eBay

There are millions of items up for auction on eBay at any given time. It is truly amazing that you can find almost anything. Where do all of these things come from? There are several different sources that a seller can use to obtain many items to sell on eBay. In this article I will go over different sources, and also include the pros and the cons of each one. The most important thing to consider is how much time you have to invest and your comfort level with a particular source.

Garage sales: Garage sales are a great place to find items at a good price to resell. It is almost like a treasure hunt because you never know what you will find. The down side to garage sales is that you might have to do a lot of shopping around to come across what you are looking for, or the “mother load” Personally I can’t resist to stop at a good looking garage sale.

Thrift stores: Thrift sources are similar to garage sales. You may find a lot of good deals, but you may have trouble finding a quantity of “gems” to sell. I suggest using garage sales and thrift stores in conjunction.

Estate sales: These are great. You can find a lot of quality items. The trick is, is to watch the newspapers close, and make sure you bring enough money for the high end items that you can sell for even more. If you live in a small community you may have to do some driving to take advantage of estate sales.

Small business: I would suggest that you approach small business owners and offer to sell their overstock on eBay for them. If you get several of these you could do very well. About 25% of the sales is close to the amount you should charge for your service. Make sure you right up an agreement, especially pertaining on the owner not selling anything that you are listing. It is better if you have the items in your possession. The drawbacks of this is that you have to keep your number of clients up, and risk your feedback if the owner sells the item you listed for him or changes his mind.

Drop shippers: The good thing about drop shipping is that you don’t have to keep an inventory. When you make a sale you just contact you drop shipper, pay them their cost and they send the product to your customer. The bad thing about drop shipping is that you are depending on another to ship to your customers on time. You are also selling something that is not in your possession. This could be risky for your feedback if the item has to be back ordered, or suddenly becomes discontinued.

Bulk/lots: If you have enough money to by a lot, or large quantity of your product, you are on your way. With this you will have to make sure you have the room to store a large quantity of goods. You also have to have confidence they will continue to sell and not die out in the middle. There are online sources you can use to find bulk items. Use a search engine using the words; wholesale, surplus, bulk, lots, you get the idea. Say you are looking for a quantity of combs, type in the search box combs AND bulk, or another keyword to go with combs. Make sure the word “and” is in caps.

EBay: What? Yes, you can find things to sell on eBay on eBay. Look in the lot items and if you can find a good deal on good items, you can buy them and then sell them separate. You can also keep an eye on items you know about and possibly snatch something up for a low price and resell it. This technique takes patience and time. They “great” deal does not come everyday.

Family/Friends/Co-workers This is where you sell items on eBay for people that you know, and they tell people that they know, and it goes on. Sometimes it can be tough selling for people you know. They might want to take advantage of you and try and get you to lower your cut of the sales.

The best source is the one you can feel good about, and is trustworthy. If a source makes you uncomfortable, try a different one. There is no reason you have to stick to one source. Branch out a little and see what you can find. You might be able to come across something that will make other sellers green with envy.

Your Blog More Effectively

So you’ve done the hard work…you’ve chosen
the niche market that you are going to target, you’ve created
the content that they’d be interested in, you’ve implemented
your onpage and offpage search engine optimization and finally
you’ve managed to establish your blog in it’s market and are
being rewarded by a steady flow of traffic from the search
engines and other sources.

Now – Your BIG question is –

“How do you convert this steady flow of traffic into money”?

You will no doubt already be trying certain
methods, an AdSense ad here and an affiliate link there, for
example, but there’s something new that I wanted to tell you
about.

This “something new” will do three
things for your blog:

1. It will instantly make it more profitable.

2. It will give it more keyword rich content pages which will
give it more search engine rankings which will increase that “steady flow
of traffic” and make it even more profitable.

3. It will give it another dimension further distinguishing
it from its competitors whilst enhancing your visitors experience.

So what is this “something new”?

It’s a clever piece of software called BuildA Niche Store and what it does is enable you to instantly build an affiliate
store made up of eBay’s products and matched to your target niche.

This means that if you have a Golf blog, with
Build A Niche Store you will be able to add all of eBay’s
golf products to it, and if you have an Antiques blog then
you will be able to add all of eBay’s antique items…you
get the idea.

You simply install the script, choose your niche, press build
and you automatically have your own niche specific affiliate store which updates
automatically (Yes – NO data feeds!) and which:

1. Will generate money for you when one of
your blog visitors buys an item through it.

2. Will give your blog hundreds or thousands
(depending on your niche) content rich product pages which
will get indexed in the search engines targeting keywords
you would otherwise not be reaching.

3. Will add a shopping experience for your visitors.

It’s truly a great piece of software and looks set to become
all the rage in the coming year.

You can check out the official Build A Niche Store website where

In recent survey it was estimated 500,000 Americans make their living on Ebay. For those of those of you who don’t know Ebay – it is an online auction site where you can put goods or services up for auction and give members the opportunity to bid on them.

So what can you sell on Ebay? The answer is just about anything, from a keyring to believe it or not an aircraft carrier (which was for sale last year). They accept just about anything apart from adult material.

With forty percent of the adult UK population now a member of Ebay there is a huge market out there for selling goods. But before you do anything you need to find something to sell.

It’s important to source the CORRECT product to sell on Ebay. Just really to make sure you aren’t left with a garage full of rubbish know-one wants. That’s the hard bit, trying to work out what is selling well.

There are loads of different ways of coming up what will be ‘hot sellers’. One of the best it to listen to what folk are talking about all the time, then take a note of the latest ‘must have gadget’. It’s then a matter of locating a wholesaler that can supply you at a good price. You’ll nearly always get a better price for buying in bulk – ask for a discount if you take large amounts of stock.

In saying that I wouldn’t advise to take a large amount of stock to start with, there is plenty of time for that if you find your product is selling well.Always check out suppliers before parting with any cash, there are a lot scam websites out there. A good way to cut down on the chance of this happening is to join a wholesale database, who will quickly weed out any untrustworthy websites. Still be on your guard though – visit or speak to the person you are buying from and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

With the growth of Ebay and other auction sites this has spawned a whole host of tools and products to make your buying and selling experience better. You can now purchase software that will let you monitor what is happening on Ebay. You can track what people are searching for; what keywords they are using; what is the average bid price. All this information is VERY useful and will only increase your chances of success.

It’s not as easy as you may think to become a successful Ebay seller but if you stick to the basic outlined above you shouldn’t go too far wrong.

Did you know that the most important thing that separates ebay neophytes from successful ebay sellers and ebay powersellers is how they construct titles and descriptions?

Most ebay neophytes and unsuccessful ebayer sellers–as well as some successful ebayer sellers–have no idea that one title is any different from another. In fact, the difference between a good title and description can be the difference between 15 visitors and 250 visitors–which has huge implications for your bottom line.

So what makes a good title?–Three things: keyword-packing, accuracy, and readability.

Keyword-packing will determine when your auction is pulled up in response to an ebay search. For instance, if you are selling jewelry and use the words “white gold” in your title, whenever someone searches for “white gold” by titles, your auction will be one of the results that gets pulled up. This is why you should always load your ebay auctions with relevant keywords.

Another important part of writing titles is accuracy. If you use keywords that are highly-searched but irrelevant to your auction, your auction will get pulled up by a lot of searches, but will not end up with a high final price. If a visitor is looking for one thing and finds something entirely different, they will more than likely hit ‘back’ immediately. This is why you should always write a title that focuses on an accurate description of your product.

The last component of writing titles is readability. If your auction title is not readable and compelling, very few potential customers will open it. To keep it readable and compelling, avoid tossing together a jumble of words that will

get pulled by more searches, but wont attract buyers. Also include descriptive, compelling words and phrases to attract buyers, such as “new” or “50% off.”

In addition to writing a good title, you will also need a good description.

A good description should also include keyword-packing. As I discussed earlier, you should include as many relevant keywords as you can in your description; however, you should try to keep this within reason. Don’t fill your description with random keywords. Instead, insert them into your description as often as possible without sacrificing readability.

You will also want to write a compelling description. You should consider what separates you from other ebay sellers and focus on those points. For instance, let’s say all of your merchandise is brand new. You could make it a point to stress how other ebay sellers often auction off broken and refurbished items–and that they can only be assured that they will receive high quality products if they shop at your store.

The gap between ebay powersellers and ebay newbies is big, but some of the steps to bridging the gap are small. Using better titles and descriptions is one of those small steps. If you follow the methods I outlined in this article, you could easily boost the amount of visitors your auctions receive by a factor of five or ten.
